Farmington Recreation Department
is pleased to announce
“Cabin Fever” programs to help make it
through March
March Madness? Nah, it’s time to put your basketball away! After a long, hard, winter the next playing seasons coming
up on the calendar are outside Spring sports. Best guess would be that those game fields and courts won’t be ready much before April 1st. As a result, the Farmington Rec. Dept. will try to offer three “filler” programs - something to fill the down-time between Winter ball and Spring training.
The following three “Cabin Fever” programs are designed for a limited number of children in grades 4, 5 and 6 and will be held once a week inside in the Bjorn Gymnasium at Farmington Community Center.

Indoor Lacrosse
This 4 week program will be held on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at the Farmington Community Center and will be directed by Heather Galasyn. Heather is a Junior at UMF with a major in Elementary Education and has been working with the Rec. Dept. since last Fall as an after school supervisor. She played lacrosse for three years through Saco Bay as well as three years for the Thornton Academy Junior Varsity Lacrosse team.
Lacrosse will begin Wednesday, March 5th and will finish on Wednesday, March 26th.
Participants will be taught the basic rules of lacrosse and technical drills such as catching, throwing and scooping up ground balls, with an opportunity to apply those skills during scrimmages. This will be an entry level, non-contact lacrosse activity.
Sticks, gloves, helmets and mouth guards will be
provided by the Rec. Dept.
Please note: This program is limited to the first 10 to register.  Any additional personal protective equipment is the responsibility of the participant. The fee to participate is $ 20.00 payable to the instructor.
