Concealed Weapons Permit Application
concealed carry
The Police Department will issue concealed carry permits to the residents of Farmington only. Applications are available at the department or provided in the link below. Please read and fill out the application carefully and in its entirety to accelerate the processing of paperwork, which generally takes about a month to complete.
The Department receives many questions regarding why someone should or should not have a concealed carry since Public Law 2015, Chapter 327 (LD652) went into effect October 15, 2015 which is an act to authorize the carrying of concealed handguns without a permit. This is entirely a personal choice, and we encourage members of the community to read further information from the Maine State website to determine if the benefits of having a concealed carry are right for you.
The Department offers free gun locks to the members of the public to assist in keeping kids safe from unauthorized use of weapons. Stop by our dDepartment and take one from the lobby. Read more on keeping guns safely out of reach of unauthorized persons from the child safe link below.
