FY 2026 Municipal Budget
Preparation of the FY2026 budget is underway. This is an interim budget covering the months of January 2026 to June 2026 as the Town transitions to a fiscal year. The Budget Committee meets on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. The Select Board meets the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. These meetings are open to the public.
Note that the mil rate projection is solely an estimate based on current valuation and the requested budget. The mil rate is only final when the Assessor commits the taxes. The mil rate and tax billing will be based on roughly half of the normal annual budget.
Schedule:
- January 5 – January 29: Budget Committee and Board of Selectmen deliberations
- February (date and location TBD): Public budget presentation
- March 23: Town Meeting
- April: Tax bills sent
- June: Tax bills due, 0% interest

FY 2027 Municipal Budget
The preliminary FY 2027 budget will be delivered to the Budget Committee and the Select Board on February 1, 2026. The schedule for budget meetings will be set at that time. This will be the first full fiscal year budget and will cover the months of July 2026 through June 2027. There will be a separate Town Meeting in April to vote on this budget. More information will be published as it becomes available.

The town of farmington now offers new payment method
The Town of Farmington has partnered with doxo, an all-in-one payment platform that allows you to pay your bill online with any device or smart phone.
Currently, the Town of Farmington (ME) is accepting online payments through doxo for sewer fees, real estate taxes, and personal property taxes.
