Employee of the Quarter, Fall 2010

Brian A. Ross:
It is my pleasure to announce that you have been selected as the Farmington Police Department Employee of the Quarter for the Fall of 2010.
Between September and December of 2010 you have investigated six (6) marijuana trafficking cases, eight (8) prescription drug diversion cases, one (1) cocaine trafficking case, one (1) methamphetamine possession case, and made ten (10) arrests while assigned to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Working collaboratively with several agencies you successfully investigated the cultivation and trafficking of marijuana by a father-and-son enterprise in Phillips resulting in the seizure of several hundred live and harvested marijuana plants and the arrest of both men. This marijuana was secured in a storage building in Farmington overnight while awaiting transport to a State warehouse. During that night the storage building was broken into and a substantial number of the plants were stolen. Again working collaboratively with several agencies the suspects were identified, search and arrest warrants were obtained leading to the recovery of some of the stolen marijuana and the arrest of two (2) suspects.
As a resident MDEA agent you’re a valuable resource to the community and local law enforcement agencies with your knowledge of current and emerging drug trends, drug identification and chemical field testing, and drafting affidavits for search warrants followed by the orderly collection and preservation of evidence. Your unselfish dedication to your chosen law enforcement profession, willingness to work in harmony with others, and sharing your knowledge and skills while providing a leadership role for others to follow helps the Farmington Police Department meet its mission "To create a feeling of safety for the people within the Town of Farmington".
